The locals resorted to religious practices like sacred oblations and smoking the village by burning medicinal plants in central India's Madhya Pradesh on May 20. The incident took place in Navapur village, located in the Bhainsdehi region of the Betul District.

Visuals feature the locals burning several medicinal plants in containers and attaching them to a wooden pole. Then, they carry the stick and roam around in the village, engulfing the region in smoke. The villagers also play prayers in the background.

The locals in the region believe that medicines can not help with the Covid-19 pandemic. They think that only the almighty can ward off the virus and keep everyone safe. In the face of that, they marched around the village and smoked the region by burning medicinal plants and offering prayers to the almighty.
