The Indian Army used drones for virtual patrolling and spread awareness about Covid-19 among locals in northern India's Jammu and Kashmir on May 24. The incident took place in Mendhar in Poonch District.

A video features the drone hovering in the air and capturing the skyline of the region. It also monitors the streets to ensure the proper implementation of the Covid-19 lockdown guidelines. Meanwhile, a speaker is attached to the device that echoes in the background and increases consciousness about the disease among the locals residing in far-flung regions.

The Indian Army Gunners of the Ace of Spades Division launched the initiative to spread Covid-19 awareness among the locals in Mendhar and other distant areas near the Line of Control (LOC) with the help of drones.
