Cyclone Yaas triggered a rainstorm after it made landfall in eastern India's Odisha on May 26. The incident took place in Dhamra, located in the Bhadrak district.

Visuals feature the cyclone wreaking havoc in the region. Several regions get inundated as the visibility in the area reduces due to the rainstorm. Meanwhile, the gales cause widespread destruction, such as breaking car windows and tin sheds.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the storm upgraded into a cyclonic storm and further intensified to make landfall towards the north of Dhamra and south of Balasore.

However, the Odisha government was prepared for the landfall near Bhitarkanika, Dhamra, and Chandbali and brought the regions under disaster management operations, along with Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Jajpur districts.
