Police officials seize illicit alcohol from smugglers in southern India

Police officials recovered and seized illicit liquor from multiple vehicles in southern India's Andhra Pradesh on May 26. The incident took place in Panchalingala in Kurnool district.

A video features the police officials apprehending the accused and confiscating a car, along with an autorickshaw, from the spot. Meanwhile, they assemble all the liquor on the road for public view and seize them.

At the Panchalingala state border check post, inspections were being carried out by N. Lakshmi Durgayya, Sub-Inspector, and other staff members under the supervision of Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Gautami Sally of Indian Police Service (IPS) under the direction of District Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dr. Fakkirappa Kaginelli.

Following this, they apprehended a person, identified as Eediga Bhanu Prakash Gowd, and seized 106 bottles of liquor, including 96 Mansion House Brandy bottles and 10 Royalstag Whiskey, from his Tata Indica car. Meanwhile, they also recovered 175 alcohol bottles, including Mansion House Brandy and MC Whiskey, from an auto and detained the accused named Reddipogu Anji. Furthermore, 281 liquor bottles from nine cases and two vehicles were seized from their possession, and cases were registered against them in Kurnool Police Station.
