Birdwatcher captures moment rehabilitated heron shot by air gun in 2016 takes off and soars over Venetian Waterway in Great Yarmouth
Video I took on my lunch break today of this majestic Heron .Alan has been through a lot to get where he is today .He was cruelly shot by an air gun in 2016 .Alan was expertly nursed back to health by a local animal welfare charity .If you search on Google for ‘Alan Heron Great Yarmouth ‘it will bring up the newspaper stories.He stated when extensive refurbishment work was carried out over the psst 3 years on the waterways .Alan can be seen daily catching fish in the waterways and roosting here .Though this is the first time I’ve seen him flying in such a good back drop .
