Heavy downpour since Tuesday evening battered the entire Kanniyakumari district of Tamilnadu in South India. Normal life was paralysed and the rains also uprooted many trees in several places. Many places were flooded and boats were brought to rescue the persons who were struck in the flooded houses. More than about two hundred houses were damaged. Water entered the houses of people and knee deep water was seen in almost all the streets of Kanniyakumari district in Tamilnadu.
