On of the biggest challenge for our doctors and health workers is to wear the PPE kit for long hours while treating the covid patients , they get exhausted wearing this PPE kits as there is no way for air and ventilation after wearing it .
But it seems a Pune based resident has now a solution for this problem , Nihal Singh Adarsh who is a second year engineering student tweaked a personal protection equipment (PPE) kit slightly and made it breathable.
Nihal tells he was given an assignment from his college to make a design for business incubation for Coronavirus . My mother is a doctor so o asked her what challenges she faced while treating patients , she told me that it become very suffocating to wear PPE kits for hours while working , from there I got the idea of making this .
He named it cov tech ventilation system and it's like sitting under fan while wearing and working . There is a belt to tighten it , there is a lithium ion battery that lasts for 6 - 8 hours .
Nihal adds he was able to develop the first model in 20 days and the prototype came after 6 months of hard work.
The device has now received recognition from the health ministry of India . The cost of this ac PPE kit is rs 5499 per piece
