A woman in Philadelphia, US, revealed to her husband that she was pregnant after the couple had been trying for nine months.

Parisa had her son Christian hand his dad James a wrapped present that turned out to the positive pregnancy test.

James let out a "no way" as he could not believe his eyes.

Parisa managed to get pregnant a month after a 6.5 cm cyst was removed from her ovaries.

Parisa and her husband James met on Tinder in right after NYE in 2015 and they were immediately inseparable. They moved in with each other after dating for nearly two years and he proposed to her in Naples, FL on the two year anniversary of their first date on the beach during the sunset at the Ritz Carlton. It was beautiful. But it didn’t end there.

When they left dinner and returned to the Airbnb, they were greeted by Parisa's whole family (and James'). He had her parents and grandmother come to Florida from Pennsylvania overnight to surprise her. James knows how important family is to Parisa. She doesn't have any siblings, so his siblings were like her own (long before they even got engaged). Parisa loved that they were there as well to help celebrate!

James even had her dog, Bella come!! They had their big wedding planned and wanted to have a long engagement (18 months to get exact so that they could enjoy the fiancé phase)! They found a venue and had two engagement parties. It was about 3 months into their engagement when Parisa saw her very first positive pregnancy test.

She was so scared and didn’t know what to do. When she showed James the test he didn’t say a word. He just looked nervous. There they were, newly engaged, and pregnant. They weren’t ready for this. James was 32 and Parisa was 28. They were both college graduates.

James owned his own business and Parisa had a great job in HR and was doing very well. It took them a few days to let it sink in and they sat down and looked at the big picture. They realized, “we can do this, we’re ready for this”.

They decided to move up their wedding to the following month! They had originally planned a large ceremony of over 200 guests and a band. But with such short notice they were in a bind. Their parents were super supportive and offered them so much help. They decided to keep their existing venue and move up the date by 1 entire year.

The couple had a 6 month engagement and sent out wedding invitations shortly after the second engagement party (they found out about the pregnancy just 4 days after their party). James and Parisa had to cut down their guest list but were shocked that almost everyone sent in an rsvp that they would be in attendance. They bought a house just a month later, and 3 months after their son Christian was born!

He arrived 4 days early and the gender was a surprise! They loved being parents and wanted another baby, but said they would wait until Christian turned 1 to try and conceive again. The couple figured it would be easy since their first pregnancy was quick (and unplanned). James and Parisa had no idea that it would take twice as long! They tried to conceive for 9 months without any luck. Parisa didn’t understand what was wrong and what was taking so long. She thought it would be so easy to get pregnant again. Especially after her first experience. It wasn’t until she went in for her annual ob exam that she casually mentioned that she was concerned that it’s taking so long to get pregnant. The ob didn’t think much of it until Parisa said that she had a job emergency c section with Christian and that when the doctor started to stitch her up he asked her if she had any assistance with fertility medication. That threw her off since she never used any type of fertility treatment. So when Parisa said no, he just shrugged it off and continued to stitch her back up. She let it go since she was a new mom and focused on her new baby. It wasn’t until that moment in the ob office that she brought it up. The ob looked in her chart and read a note stating that there was a small cyst on Parisa's ovary but wasn’t removed since the size was so small and they typically go away on their own. She quickly ordered an ultrasound and when Parisa went in for it, the ultrasound detected a very large object. It was so large that it required an MRI. Parisa had the MRI scheduled on her 31st birthday and was shocked to see it showed a 6.5 cm solid cyst. They had to get it removed immediately. It was so large that it had already damaged her ovary. Her surgery was scheduled for the following month and when she went in to get it removed she asked the doctor (same one who delivered her son) if he could take a photo of it for her because she was curious to see what it looks like. He actually did it and he had it next to his hand and it was the same size as his fist! Luckily, it was benign. James and Parisa started to try again a month after her surgery and Parisa got pregnant the following month! They were so happy and she found out the day after James' 34th birthday! That’s when she made this video! They decided to find out the gender this time by taking a blood test and found out they’re having a girl! They decided to name her Layla! Layla was born in September 2020 and they are absolutely smitten! They wanted to grow their family again and found out they were expecting just two months ago! Unfortunately, they miscarried at 8 weeks. They are not giving up. They hope to have one more baby and complete their family.
