This footage, filmed on May 29, shows thousands of demonstrators taking to the streets of Zagreb, Croatia's capital city, to protest against abortion.

Participants waived Croatian flags, and carried placards saying: "Unborn lives matter too".

Left-wing and feminist groups tried to block the march against abortion, which is held annually.

Croatia is a largely Catholic country. Abortion until the 10th week of pregnancy has been legal since 1978.

However, women still face many barriers when accessing abortion care, as many doctors refuse to conduct the procedure.

Thousands of anti-abortion demonstrators took to the streets on Saturday in Croatia, a largely Catholic country where human rights activists say reproductive rights are increasingly under threat.

The video shows the marchers in capital Zagreb, most of whom did not wear masks, waiving Croatian flags, singing patriotic songs and carrying banners such as "Unborn lives matter, too".
