DRDO establishes 500-bed Covid-19 hospital in northern India

The Defense Research and Development Organisation's (DRDO) 500-bed Covid hospital was inaugurated in northern India's Jammu and Kashmir on May 30. The incident took place in Jammu.

A video features the commencement of the inauguration ceremony at the DRDO Covid Hospital in broad daylight. Several people gather and cluster the area after the Lieutenant Governor arrives in the region. Moreover, the hospital is well-equipped with all the medical supplies to treat ailing patients.

The Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, identified as Manoj Sinha, inaugurated the 500-bedded Covid-19 facility set up by the DRDO. This hospital will be the backbone of the healthcare services in Jammu and will deal with the pandemic. The facility has been constructed at the Bhagwati Nagar Centre. Moreover, out of 500 beds, 125 will be Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds, while the others will be a set of Covid-19 beds with continuous oxygen supply.

The hospital is well-equipped with ventilators, monitors, along with an in-house pharmacy, diagnostic facility, X-ray, and computerized tomography (CT) scan facility. Moreover, the Governor devised an effective response system to mobilize the physical and human resources within the healthcare delivery apparatus.
