Officers from India's forest department on Monday (May 31) rescued an angry bear from a residential area of central India.

Footage showed a team removing the large mammal in a crate from a building in the Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh.

The bear was released shortly afterwards in Panna Tiger Reserve.

Forest officials rescued a bear from the residential region in central India's Madhya Pradesh on May 31. The incident took place in Bamitha, located in the Chhatarpur district.

Visuals feature the forest officials conducting the rescue operation. They manage to confine the bear into a brick room. Following this, they place a cage at its entrance and trap the animal inside it after struggling for a while. Later, they carry the bear to safety while the onlookers crowd the region to behold the experience. Meanwhile, the animal retaliates its confinement inside the cage.

Upon being alerted that a bear had strayed into the residential region, the forest department officials, along with the police, rushed to the spot. After conducting the rescue operation for hours, they managed to capture the animal. Later, a team from the Panna Tiger Reserve took the bear and released it into the region.
