This footage was filmed and produced 1 June 2021.

The measures taken by the Argentine government to prohibit meat exports, aimed at lowering prices for domestic consumption, have caused an excessive increase in the price of Uruguayan meats for the consumption of its citizens. Uruguayan exporters have taken the opportunity to sell more, since their natural competitor is out of the game, and that has raised prices for citizens. More than 20% have increased in the last month in a country that is culturally a large consumer of red meat. An unexpected consequence of a foreign measure in a country already badly hit by the economic crisis that caused the pandemic.
