Conservation officials release protected crested hawk-eagle in Indonesia
Conservation officials in Agam Regency, Indonesia, released a protected crested hawk-eagle back into the wild.
The bird was found in the field of resident and was handed to officials at Natural Resources Conservation Center (BKSDA).
The crested hawk-eagle was then treated for a day before being declared healthy and released back into the wild.
Footage from June 2 shows the moment the juvenile bird of prey was set free.
Ade Putra, Head of BKSDA, said: "The results of our observations, this bird is a female juvenile or under two years old and in good health and deserves to be released again.
"The population of this bird in West Sumatra can be found in areas along the west coast of Sumatra, with the current population observed in 2019 of no more than a thousand individuals."
