A visitor to a national park in northeastern India has captured the rare moment a wild rhino chased off a tiger.

The clip, which was filmed in Kaziranga National Park in Assam state on April 21, shows a rhino cooling off in a watering hole.

The hefty wild creature appears to notice something lurking nearby and moves with purpose towards it.

Suddenly, a tiger leaps from the water and the rhino chases it to the bank of the watering hole.

A petrifying incident came forward in which the survival of the fittest concept made total sense in northeastern India's Assam on April 21.

The incident took place in the Kaziranga National Park.

Visuals feature a tall and huge rhino dawdling in a waterbody to drink water amidst the serene greenery. After a few moments, the mammal suspects something beneath the water and swiftly makes a move towards it. Upon discovering a tiger within its range, the rhino alerts itself and fiercely chases after the predatory creature until it darts itself out of the water.

In the animal kingdom, the battle over territory, food, or a mate can often turn out to be brutal and violent. However, these creatures are thoroughly built to withstand such incredible brawls and collisions.

During such an unusual sighting, a tourist guide spotted a female adult one-horned rhino in the water. These animals have exceptional senses, and they become more alert when they detect danger near their calf. Following this, the mother rhino discovered the carnivore Royal Bengal tiger within their reach and immediately leaped after it to ensure their safety.
