Fraud charges laid against Health Ministry over COVID19 marketing contract
The Democratic Alliance, Official Opposition party in the parliament of South Africa has laid fraud charges against the Minister of Health Dr Zweli Mkhize and his Department's Director General after a R 150 million digital communication contract was awarded to a close contact of the Minister and his family.
The DA shadow minister of health, Siviwe Gwarube was at the Cape Town Central Police station to lay charges under the Prevention of organised Crime act ( POCA). It is alleged that the contract was awarded irregularly to Digital Vibes a Johannesburg based Communications company and that the Minister and his son benefited from it.
