Villagers in Madhya Pradesh, central India, formed a human chain to reach water down a 20-feet-deep well.

Locals, including kids, in Borkhedi climbed down into the pit and began collecting the water in several buckets and pots.

The children balance on the slippery rocks before passing up the containers full of water to those waiting at the surface.

The village has a population of around 600 and all of them are dependent on a hand pump for their water supply.

Other than Covid-19, people have been suffering from a never-ending water crisis in central India's Madhya Pradesh on June 3. The incident took place in Borkhedi village, located in Bhainsdehi Tehsil of Betul district.

Visuals feature the locals, including the kids, traveling past their village to obtain water from a well during the daytime. Upon reaching their destination, the girls begin to climb down the well with the support of the wall and makeshift elevated surface inside the structure. Following this, they balance themselves on the slippery rocks and pass on the water in a queue to the women standing near the boundary. Meanwhile, an official takes the matter into consideration and will send someone to take stock of the situation.

The water crisis problem has become so big in the life of these villagers that their lives hopelessly hang on a thread. The village has a population of over 600 people and has nearly 85 houses, and still, all of them depend upon a hand pump for their water supply. Here every drop of water counts, and when they cannot get a steady supply, they travel for about a kilometer (0.6 miles) to a nearby well to fetch water for themselves.

Around five kids climb up and down the 20-feet deep well to transfer water to the people standing near the surface. Moreover, the water they get is not even potable and is full of dirt as the wells are getting dried up due to natural calamities. This act puts the life of these children at stake, and yet no one comes forward to help these poor souls. The negligence of the village council and the authorities has forced these villagers to strive for water.
