Indonesian Government cancels 2021 Hajj pilgrims departure

The Indonesian government through the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) decided to cancel the departure of Indonesian pilgrims to carry out the Hajj pilgrimage in 1442 Hijri/2021 AD. This was conveyed by the Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas in his press conference, Thursday (3/6/2021).

"Determining the cancellation of the departure of hajj pilgrims during the hajj pilgrimage in 1442 Hijri or 2021 AD for Indonesian citizens who use the Indonesian hajj quota and other hajj quotas," said Yaqut.

Previously, Yaqut also said that until Wednesday (2/6/2021) the government had not received certainty regarding the implementation of the pilgrimage.
