Kayaking with a Shark, Bulls Bay near Charleston, South Carolina

Buy video

I took my sea kayak and paddled 11 miles in Bulls Bay. On my way back, I was paddling close to some oyster beds and happened to notice a shark swimming just a few feet away from the edge. I watched the shark for about 10 minutes, and he swam back and forth along the edge of the oyster beds. I paddled quietly up to it and shot the video with my phone. I noticed the shark had a second dorsal fin, which meant it was probably a lemon shark, which is not very aggressive. I sent the video to the shark scientist at SC DNR, and he confirmed it was a lemon. I saw a couple of other sharks as well, but did not get any more pics or video.
