AFRICA DAY 2021 , Africans must determine who they are, not by the funders and colonisers
Africa day was celebrated in Langa, cape Town on the 25th of May this year
The site it was celebrated at was the pass office of the apartheid government, the place black people had to go to during apartheid to get permits to move around and go to work.
Africa day was used to change the narrative around the venue and how communities can work together.
The overwhelming feeling was that Africans should be given the opportunity to determine who they are on their own and not along the narratives of colonisers or funders.
Unity as an african community is also needed and we should see each other as one.
