101 red sandalwood logs meant for smuggling seized in southern India

A police task force seized 101 red sandalwood logs dumped at about ten places in a forest area in southern India's Andhra Pradesh on June 5. The incident took place in Nagalapuram, located in the Chittoor district.

Visuals feature several logs of red sandalwood lying on the ground in the middle of the forest cover. The authorities place the seized wood in a line-like formation and stand adjacent to it. Later, a police official discloses the details of the case.

Acting on the instructions of Anantapur Range's Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Kanti Rana Tata, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Muralidhar, along with a task force, recovered 101 red sandalwood logs scattered at ten places in the forest cover. The officials seized the logs which were ready to be smuggled and were lauded for their prompt response.
