Two trains collided in Pakistan’s southern Sindh Province on Monday, killing at least 30 people and injuring 50 others, according to officials.
Sir Syed Express, headed from Lahore to Karachi, collided with the Millat Express after it derailed on the way to Sargodha from Karachi.
Noman Ali, a survived passenger said:
"There was some issue at Boggiee 10, Millat Express. When our journey started, they (train staff) said it has been sorted out. When the train crossed Rohri station it seemed like some clip of the train was broken, and our train Boggiee got on other track. And then within few seconds, I heard sound of the other train (Sir Syed) that was coming from other side. We were reciting Kalmah, and thought we would not be able to save ourselves, but we got another life. We have told them that the train clip was not working properly and that was the reason why the train left Karachi station late. At least two Boggiees were collapsed totally, and i think more than 50 people (died)."
