An elephant attempted to attack a two-wheeler-borne man in Sri Lanka's North Central Province on June 6. The incident took place in the Minneriya National Park located in Rambawilla.

A video features a duo of elephants on the sidelines of the road. The jumbos try to move across the street but are interrupted by the vehicles passing by. Within moments, when a series of two-wheelers drive by, one of the elephants begins running towards it. The panic-stricken man abandons his bike and runs to safety while the jumbo gives up the chase and retreats to the forest cover.

The elephants in the region are known for straying off their corridors. They often relocate across the streets and chase after the passers-by, making the locals familiar with such incidents.
