Chinese firemen rescue 2-year-old girl trapped in abandoned well
Firefighters rescued a 2-year-old girl that fell into an abandoned well in southwestern China.
The video, captured in the city of Mengzi in Yunnan Province on June 2, shows firefighters throwing a rope into the well and trying to attach it to the toddler.
They used excavators to dig up the area next to the deep and narrow well.
After the excavator dug to the same height as where the girl got stuck, the firemen tore down the well to take the girl out.
The girl was successfully rescued after 12 hours and handed over to the paramedic on site. Fortunately, she is in a healthy condition.
According to reports, the girl followed her dad into the fields and accidentally fell into the abandoned well that only had plastic film covering it.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
