A driver in the Russian city of Miass somehow walked away from a horrific accident in which he slammed at high speed into an electricity pole.

CCTV footage filmed on June 6 shows the man lose control of his Toyota RAV4 while rounding a corner, career off the road and then collide with the pole.

The vehicle comes to a halt a few seconds later and the driver gets out of the SUV and sits down beside it, clearly very shaken but otherwise unharmed.

The accident happened yesterday, June 6, at about half past four in the morning in the area of house number 1a on Gottwald Street, the department said. An unidentified driver of a Toyota RAV4 passenger car, for unknown reasons, drove off the road and crashed into a power line pole, knocking down a support and dragging several tens of meters.

The SUV at high speed does not fit into the bend of the road and demolishes the structure. After getting out of the car, the man sits on the ground in a state of shock. The motorists who arrived in time inspect a fairly deformed foreign car and check if there are any people inside.

After a while, the reckless driver left the car and left in an unknown direction. The wires were also damaged, but the communal troubles were avoided: the break was quickly eliminated.
