Whale shark eats fish from trawler’s net in southern Thailand
A large whaleshark floated into a fishing trawler’s net and swallowed some of the fish that had been caught.
The mammoth marine creature emerged from the water and swam into the net while it was being carried ashore on the coast of Chumphon, southern Thailand, on March 5.
It then swallowed dozens of fish before the crew lowered the net to allow the whale shark to float away into the depths.
Onlooker Nack Burin said: ‘This whale is a clever thief. It seemed to have waited for us to trap the fish and then ate some of our catch.’
