Woman jumps into deep well to end her life, gets rescued in southern India
Suicide may stem from intense feelings of anger, hopelessness, or panic, but what exactly triggered this irrevocable step in a woman in southern India's Andhra Pradesh on June 5. The incident took place in Amalapuram in East Godavari district.
Visuals feature the team of rescuers climbing down the narrow 25-feet deep well with the help of a ladder to save the life of a woman inside of it. Following this, they use ropes to help her escalate to the top and use their collective force to pull her to safety after she reaches the surface. In the meantime, her saviors tend to her as blood drips from her head. However, the woman remains motionless and sits beside the well as her life almost fades in front of her eyes.
The vulnerable woman was hit by a life-upsetting blow when she decided to jump into the well to end her life. However, upon receiving such grieving news, the police officials, along with a team from the fire department, rushed to the spot and used various equipment to save the lady stranded beneath the surface.
The rescue operation ended within 15 minutes while the woman sustained severe injuries after she took the impulsive step to commit suicide. However, the situation was brought under control, and relevant medical assistance was provided to the victim. Furthermore, the Amalapuram Assistant Sub-inspector and police constables were lauded for their swift response and efforts to save the woman on time.
