A dramatic video has emerged from China of an 82-year-old woman being saved from a narrow gap between two buildings.

In the footage, filmed during the rescue in Jiangsu Province on 19 March, fire fighters can be seen using a hammer to dig a hole in one of the inside walls to free the woman.

According to local news reports, the woman became stuck after trying to retrieve some items from the narrow gap.

She was rescued within one hour of the rescue team arriving at the scene.
