CCTV camera has captured the moment when two women escaped narrowly after falling into an open manhole in Western India
CCTV camera has captured the moment when two women escaped narrowly after falling into an open manhole in Bhandup area of Mumbai in Maharastra, India on Wednesday 9th June 2021.
The visuals show deluged road that overflows down the street making it hard to spot the open manhole.
A woman in a saree approaches near the spot and immediately falls down but manages to grab the side and get up.
After a few seconds, another woman falls into the same manhole but finds a little difficult in getting up.
She looks around for help but on seeing no one coming she manages to get up by herself.
In a similar incident last year a woman had fallen into an open manhole and died in Mumbai's Ghatkopar area.
Municipal commisioner Iqbal Singh Chahal had directed his officers to take measures to cover all the open manholes in a high level meeting.
He jad also instructed the officials to keep a close watch towards any mishappenings in the waterlogged areas.
