Wildlife officials chased away an elephant after it left a trail of destruction in Sabaragamuwa Province, Sri Lanka, on May 3.

Footage shows the elephant after it had retreated to the cover of the forest.

A video features the wildlife officials spotting the jumbo in the middle of the forest. They arm themselves with guns and later fire in the elephant's direction to chase it away. Once the mammal retreats to the forest cover, the officials visit the region where the elephant wreaked havoc. A residential structure remains demolished while it rains in the area.

The elephant strayed towards some houses in the region and wreaked destruction. Following this, the wildlife officials rushed to the spot upon being alerted and chased away the jumbo.
