A trumpet player used a face mask with a hole pierced in the front while playing to passers-by in Thailand.

The musician was seen on a busy Saturday night belting out Ed Sheeran hit ‘Thinking Out Loud’ in the Chinatown area of Bangkok, Thailand.

He wore a black face mask with a hole so his lips could touch the mouthpiece of the brass instrument. A black tight covered the opening to prevent the air from his mouth going directly outside.

The musician was using extra caution following a surge in Covid-19 infections in the country.

Thousands of people who have tested positive for the coronavirus over the last two weeks have been traced to nightclubs and ‘coyote’ hostess bars in the Thong Lor district. The cluster is the third significant outbreak of Covid-19 in Thailand and saw 965 people infected today.

The outbreak coincides with the start of Thailand’s Songkran New Year holiday, with hundreds of thousands of locals moving around the country on planes, cars and buses to visit relatives. There have been a total of 33,610 Covid-19 cases and 97 deaths as of April 13.
