Ugo Haryono is a painter, musician, performer, and has served at the Jakarta Arts Institute (IKJ). At the age of 5 years he was stricken with polio. The disease made one leg shrink to a smaller size. Since then, he has had to accept the reality of living his life in a wheelchair. Almost all of his paintings are abstractions of urban space.

"Drifted by flood waters, yes, I made another one. Ha ha ha. So this is in small form, on a small scale, but I can enlarge it again, in the form of a statue or a painting. And in my imagination, shapes like this also provoke sound. Because I also like playing music, there are sound illusions. This can be hm-a-hm-a-hm-hm-hm.... Sometimes literary expressions also appear, not-tak-tata-tatah-tah.... So this is what is, audio-visual in nature. The visual technique can be seen. So this visual can also unite sounds, not a complete imaginary one. Well, there can be the sound of drums, the sound of primitive music. Well, this is something I used to be afraid of. But now no, this is my spiritual entertainment. Maybe other people are also afraid to see this, but if I don't, instead, sympathy, affection, and respect for God's creations arise.

Then there are more, woods like this, the name becomes the illusion of flowers, what is it, a bouquet. so used wood, used cans, it will cause interest, well even from items that are no longer used. So I don't make it again because it's called reproduction. I made it in another form. Maybe made of iron, plastic, sack, or whatever. The important thing is that there are independent works, one by one."
