This is the scary moment a supercell cloud formed over homes as Typhoon Surigae battered the Philippines.

The footage shows a rare dark cloud swirling above Naga City in Camarines Sur as the powerful typhoon moved by the east of the country.

Project Oregon manager Rodel Bermundo recorded the video outside his house in the Bicol region of the country.

He said: “The cloud was very disturbing, especially while there was bad weather in the region. There was wind and rain in our area.’

The typhoon reached maximum sustained winds of 190 mph (305 kph) at the weekend when it passed by the eastern part of the country.

Forecasters said that Typhoon Surigae, known locally as Tphoon Bising, had weakened on Monday (April 19) while it slowly moved away from the country.
