Australian Pelicans waiting and hoping for scraps from fishermen returning with their catch
Australian Pelicans (Pelecanus conspicillatus) are found wherever there are large expanses of open water. Australian Pelicans become very confiding around people, particularly when food is on offer. These Pelicans were by the boat launching ramp in the Novara Beach Reserve on the western side of Peel Inlet, Western Australia, waiting for fishermen to return and give them scraps from their catch on a perfect winter afternoon.
