CCTV footage captured the moment a woman robbed a grocery shop in Pasia-Agam, Indonesia and left her groceries.

Filmed on June 13, the red-haired woman wearing a purple jacket and masked rides a scooter entered the grocery shop to purchase instant noodles, yellow noodles, cappuccinos and sanitary napkins.

After the shop owner took the sanitary napkin out of reach, the thief took the shop owner's wallet on the grocery shelf near the cash register, then hid the wallet in a plastic bag filled with noodles.

Irma Suryani, 56, the theft victim, said the thief said she canceled to buy sanitary napkins while hurrying out of the shop.

"I was suspicious from the start as the strange shopping method. She asked for goods to be paid immediately, then asked for other items to be paid immediately. When she left the store I was suspicious and saw that my wallet was missing," said Surya.

Surya, who is also a high school teacher, chased the thief outside the shop to ask for her wallet, but the thief didn't admit it while trying hard to start his broken scooter.

When the scooter started the thief tried to escape, but the victim caught her jacket and they fell twice.

The scooter that fell also left bags of the thief's 80,000 rupiah (£4) worth of groceries strewn on the road. The victim immediately took her wallet containing 8 million rupiah (£400) when the thief turned on the scooter again to escape.

The thief confronted by residents but she turned around and escaped. Passed by residents saw the fight didn't know its theft as the victim didn't shout, so residents thought it a mother-daughter quarrel.

The incident left the victim injured in the hands and feet, while the perpetrator whose identity is clearly visible in the security camera footage is now a fugitive from the police.
