South Africa's ruling party unable to pay staff salaries, ANC in financial crisis, staff protest

Employees from South africa's ruling party, the African National Congress ( ANC), staged a protest outside the Western Cape office.

The staff have not received their salaries for the month of May and have been experiencing difficulty with salary payments since 2019.

Employee Spokesperson, Mr Mvusi Mdala said it came as a shock to them when they did not receive their salary at the end of May. Mdala added that they are giving the African National Congress leadership seven Days before they intensify their action.

The ANC has been facing financial difficulty since 2019, they have debt that amounts to hundreds of millions of rands, last year a court order was granted to attach some of the organisation's assets.
