Avalanche tears down Japanese mountainside narrowly missing skiers
A group of Japanese skiers had a lucky escape when an avalanche tore down a mountainside just metres from where they were standing.
Takeshi S. and his friends watched in amazement as the torrent of snow and ice slid past them on Mount Hotakadake.
After the danger had passed, the skiers descended the slope and filmed the aftermath of the natural phenomenon.
The clip was filmed back in May 2017.
