A 4-year-old boy was rescued by a team of officials after falling into a 180-feet-deep borewell in Uttar Pradesh, northern India.

Footage from June 14 shows the rescue team monitoring the boy's condition with two cameras.

Oxygen was also pumped into the narrow hole to ensure the boy could breathe properly.

After spending eight hours down the borewell, the boy was finally hauled out of the deep pit.

Officials cheered as the child was brought back to the surface in Fatehabad.

A toddler was striving for his life for eight hours after plunging inside a 180-feet deep borewell in northern India's Uttar Pradesh on June 14. The incident took place in Agra's Dhariyai village under the Nibohara police station area in Fatehabad.

Visuals feature panic ensuing among the locals after a boy falls inside a deep borewell in broad daylight. In the meantime, the officials ascertain the situation and monitor the child's movement with the help of a rope descended inside the pit and ensure that the boy is responding at all times. After a while, a team of rescuers reach the spot and safely pull him out while rejoicing at the moment after saving the precious life.

The boy named Shiva was playing during the daytime when he slipped and accidentally fell inside the 9-inch borehole that was dug by his father, Chotelal. He did that about 20-feet away from their residence after the submersible pump, which was used for irrigating the field, stopped working and left the hole uncovered after removing the pipe. Following the disastrous incident, the district authorities, cops, and a medical team rushed to the spot to commence the rescue operation. Meanwhile, Shiva was responding to everyone with the help of a rope dropped into the borewell while his movement was continuously being observed with two cameras. Even oxygen was pumped into the borewell, along with biscuits and oral rehydration solutions (ORS), to sustain him for a while.

Fortunately, a team from National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF), and army personnel reached the village and swung into action. Therefore, after hours of effort, the panic-stricken child got pulled out to safety after being stranded inside for eight hours by loop technique, in which they dropped a loose knot inside the hole and locked it onto the child's arm. Furthermore, the doctors present on the spot examined him and provided him relevant treatment before admitting him to the Primary Health center for a check-up.
