A Palestinian artist has transformed the rubble of her home in Gaza into an unusual canvas for her paintings.

Saja Musa's building in Rafah was partially destroyed by airstrikes last month during the worst outbreak of fighting between Israel and Hamas in years.

Rather than wallow in the misery of her situation, the 26-year old began to express herself on the fallen chunks of plaster and brickwork.

She says her paintings speak of hope and resilience amid the suffering and also symbolize the history of the Palestinian people.

A ceasefire between Israel and Hamas took effect on May, 21 after the worst outbreak of fighting in years, which saw at least 248 Palestinians, including 66 children, killed by Israeli bombing.

The video shows plastic artist Saja Musa, 26, from Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip, transforming the rubble of her partially destroyed home. As a result of the Israeli bombing, her paintings speak of pain, resilience, and hope in the midst of pain. Her artistic paintings also symbolize the history of Palestine.
