A couple achieved self-sufficiency after growing essential vegetables and spices in their rooftop garden in central India's Madhya Pradesh. Visuals shot on June 17 feature the garden in Betul.

Anjali and Pramod Malviya almost gave up on their dream of having a garden in their house after facing space restrictions. However, Anjali decided to go ahead with a rooftop garden and began by water-proofing the balcony. Then, the couple planted several vegetables, fruits, and spices trees in their rooftop garden.

The garden produces a varied amount of fruits and vegetables, ranging from sugarcanes to sweet potatoes. Moreover, the couple emphasizes the need for a terrace garden as organic produce reduces the risk of cancer. The trees also increase the oxygen supply and reduce the temperature.

Moreover, the garden has been helpful to the couple during the pandemic-induced lockdown. Neither did they feel the need to go out to the market, nor did they face any lack of vegetables or fruits. Furthermore, their rooftop garden has become the city-wide center of attraction.
