Ants are known for being colony creatures but the heroism of one group as their home threatened to fall out of a tree still impressed a man who came across it.

The filmer witnessed the extraordinary collective effort while out in Quang Binh, Vietnam.

He came across the scene after he noticed thousands of ants moving fast on a tree. After approaching, he discovered the ants were trying to connect with each other to save their nest, which had begun falling from the tree.

Vast numbers of the insects appeared to be linking up to stop it falling and to move eggs out of the nest to safety.

This was the first time the man had seen such a sight and he admired the ants for their sacrifice and ability to work together for the good of their colony.

According to the man, he accidentally saw the sight of thousands of ants moving fast on the tree. After approaching, he discovered the ants were trying to connect with each other to protect the nest from falling from the tree.
The ants form spheres to move the ant eggs out of the nest.
