Neil De Beer, leader of a little know political formation calling itself the United Independent Movement (UIM), speaks at a protest outside South Africa's to opposing pending changes to South Africa's gun laws. A bill has been gazetted which will remove self-defence as a valid reason to possess a firearm. The protest was organised and led by biker group Ride to Freedom. De Beer is a former spy and operative of Umkhonto we Sizwe (Spear of the Nation). which was the military wing of the African National Congress during the anti-apartheid struggle.
