A mechanic from northeastern India is turning heads after transforming his second-hand car into a "Lamborghini."

Nurul Haque, 31, from Assam state opened a garage in 2020 hoping that with a lot of hard work he might one day be able to own a luxury supercar.

However, fate had other plans for Haque and his garage shut down during the pandemic-induced lockdown.

Rather than lose all hope, Haque decided to put his skills to work and make his dream come true at the same time.

Over several months, Haque single-handedly converted his Maruti Swift into a vehicle resembling the high-end Italian sports car.

The mechanic says the experience has been overwhelmingly positive and he's hoping to create a Ferrari replica next.

He's also considering selling his design for the modified sports car to other enthusiasts.

A motor mechanic, Nurul Haque, modified his second-hand vehicle into a famous sports car solo in northeastern India's Assam. He started working on the model back in October 2020 and winded up the finishing touches after toiling for eight months, on June 1.

Visuals feature the modified car parked in the middle of the garage. The videos document the entire manufacturing process of the vehicle, from demolishing it to the final touches. Haque, along with a few others, work on the model and turn the beaten Maruti Swift into a lavish Lamborghini.

A 31-year-old car enthusiast, Haque always dwelled on being able to drive a luxurious vehicle, but his financial situation constrained him. Battling his monetary limitations, Haque opened a garage in 2020 and bought a second-hand Maruti Swift car. However, fate had other plans for him as his garage shut down during the pandemic-induced lockdown.

While life kept throwing curveballs at Haque, he was determined to not lose hope. After coming across a Lamborghini's picture, the motor mechanic decided to go after his life-long dream after all. He created a design and laid out an elaborate plan for modifying his Maruti Swift into a Lamborghini.

While overcoming one obstacle after the other, he single-handedly created the modified version of his second-hand car. With some help from his garage's staff now and then, Haque worked tirelessly day in and day out for eight months to finally achieve the desired model.

Given the lockdown restrictions, Haque was unable to procure some elements for his design. Therefore, while he used some makeshift pieces, he built some parts from scratch for his new model. However, he kept the Maruti Swift's engine and spent up to Rs 6.2 lakh (USD 8,364.25) in total on the modifications.

Ever since Haque modified his Maruti Swift, he has been unable to drive for long distances as he continues to struggle with the paperwork of the car. Moreover, he has also not received any support from the government in the matter and urges the authorities to smoothen out the legalities of his new vehicle.

After receiving an overwhelming response for his modified Lamborghini, Haque now looks forward to creating a Ferrari replica. Moreover, he is also open to selling his design for the modified sports car to vehicle-manufacturing houses that share the same love for vehicles that he does.
