Man takes chair on cross-country Canadian road trip
A cool video has emerged of a man taking an armchair on a scenic cross-country trip across Canada.
The video shows the man travelling from Ontario to British Columbia, while stopping at intervals to appreciate the view from the comfort of his own chair.
Writing online about the journey, the filmer said "Moving for work is something I've become used to in my line of work, so a 4500 km drive to a new place doesn't really phase me. Although this time I decided to make it interesting and take in as much of the Canadian scenery as I could. Hauling around my chair in the fall of 2014 was a great idea, and often left me speechless.
I brought my Dad with me for part of the trek. It was a great bonding experience, as we shared many laughs. I heard some pretty interesting stories about his youth that I hadn't heard before, especially since my mother wasn't on the trip with us.”
Although the footage was captured last year, it has only recently emerged online.
“I left from Borden, Ontario and was heading west to Comox, British Columbia. The scenery and countryside were ever changing and beautiful to look at. I met friends and family along the way, taking in as much as I could on my 9-day journey. All of this done from my liberated, sea foam green, free chair. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
Oh the things that chair has seen. From Ontario to the West Coast of Canada. Caked in dirt, flies, snow and other random road grime, this couch has seen 5000 km Canada. It now has a new home...for now.”
