Taksim Gezi Protests Day 20 Tesvikiye
After the police raided the park yesterday the clashes continued well after sunrise... At social media web sites people organized to rally towards the park at Taksim and retake the park. But the police held every route leading there and Tesvikiye was on one of those routes. A large crowd as present waiting for the police to clear the road... but that didn't happen...
The police teargas and TOMA runs lasted the whole afternoon after which the crowd was dispersed only to regroup downhill near Sair Nedim Street... The crowd pressed on to Akaretler, another route to Taksim... After long negotiations the police agreed to back off and let the crowd uphill towards Taksim... While a sudden thunderstorm downpour the police again used teargas against the crowd behind the Hilton hotel which dispersed the crowd once again.
Unfortunately I could only shoot Tesvikiye resistance...
