Despite the prohibition against the sale of chewable tobacco to save society against severe health issues, its illicit business kept booming in southern India's Telangana on June 22. The incident took place in Parlapally village in Thimmapur in Karimnagar district.

Visuals feature several concealed packets full of illicit tobacco-related items seized by officials from two miscreants. They further apprehend the goons to avoid the sale of these illegal products and keep a check on all the items for further investigation.

The state government imposed a complete ban on chewable tobacco products on January 9, 2013, intending to save society, but somehow locals continued to have access to these items. Following these instances, the cops raided a place in Parlapally village and recovered tobacco-related items worth Rs. 60,000 (USD 806). They further arrested the two smugglers, identified as Ashok and Matangi Rajender, for their wrongful act and were handed over to the Timmapur Police Station officials for further investigation.
