The Snana Yatra or a bathing ceremony of Lord Jagannath, his brother Lord Balabhadra and sister Goddess Shubadra took place on Thursday (24 June) at a temple in Beawar, Rajasthan, northern India. Only few devotees were present amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
World famous Snana Yatra of Lord Jagannath is held on the Full Moon day in hindu month of Jyeshtha every year. The auspicious day is known as Jyeshtha Purnima or Deva Snana Purnima. Celebrated just before the world-renowned Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath, Deva Snana Purnima is a traditional ritual of bathing the deities Lord Jagannath, Devi Subhadra, and Lord Balabhadra.
Most popular Lord Jagannath rath yatra festival will be held on July 12. Nine-day annual festival Rath Yatra or chariot festival conducted every year for past 143 years but last year yatra was not allowed due to covid-19 restriction.
