Trans rights activists participating in the 'London Trans+ Pride' march on Saturday (June 26) stopped outside the Royal Academy of Arts in Piccadilly to boo and jeer the institution.

The world-famous Academy had apologised to artist Jess de Wahls after accusing her of transphobia and removing her work from their gift shop. The comment the artist had made was "humans cannot change sex" in 2019.

Veteran LGBT rights campaigner Peter Tatchell, who has said the artist "should be challenged" on her views, was seen attending the march holding a sign reading "No LGB without the T".

Marchers chanted, "hate speech is not free speech", outside the Royal Academy before boos and shouts of "fascist" and "suck my d***" were heard from the crowd.
