Counterfeit notes worth $6,73,845 seized from miscreants in central India
Illegal businesses have emerged as one of the most formidable challenges in central India's Madhya Pradesh on June 27. The incident took place in Balaghat.
Visuals feature the cops arresting the goons for deceiving people by supplying fake notes. Following this, they seize currency of all denominations from their possession and place it on the ground to keep a check on them. In the meantime, a senior official discloses the matter to the public.
Acting on a tip-off, the cops busted the gang after a two-day operation and arrested eight people involved in the illegal trading. While six of the accused men were arrested from Balaghat, the other two were held from Gondia in Maharashtra.
These fake currency notes had a face value of Rs. 5 crores (USD 6,73,845) and were of different denominations ranging from Rs. 10 (USD 0.13) to Rs. 2,000 (USD 26.95). Moreover, the eight accused have been identified as Rahul Meshram, Anantram Panche, Nanhulal Vishwakarma, Hariram Panche, Hemant Uike, Sohanlal, Mukesh Tawade, and Rameshwar Mauje. Besides, interrogation is underway to trace the gang leader and the supply chain of these counterfeit notes.
