A horse was injected with chemicals and buried in the ground after being infected by a life-threatening infectious disease in central India's Madhya Pradesh on June 26. The incident took place in Ashoknagar.

Visuals feature the officials injecting the horse and giving it a painless death after it tested positive for Glanders disease. Within moments, the hapless animal collapses on the ground, with its hind legs up in the air as its life fades in front of its eyes. In the meantime, the onlookers behold the horrific occurrence while an excavator picks up the carcass and buries it inside a deep pit to contain the infection.

Based on suspicion of a disease, the staff from the animal department collected the sample of the horse and sent it over to Bhopal. There the officials claimed that the animal has tested positive for Glanders disease, which is a life-threatening infection and can spread to humans, causing fatality.

The horse already displayed symptoms of the disease like nasal discharge, spots on the body, and much more, following which even the National Research Center in Hisar confirmed that the horse is infected.

Unfortunately, the officials, under the supervision of the collector, took the decision to inject the mammal and was laid to rest in a deep pit to avoid spreading the infection. Moreover, further investigation revealed that two months ago, a man named Rafiq Khan brought this horse from Gwalior and was suffering from the disease since then.
