Suspected 'volcano' turns out to be burning coal mine in China
An interesting video has emerged from China of a suspected ‘volcano’, which turned out to be a hole leading to a coal mine.
In the footage, filmed on a construction site in Xinjiang on Wednesday, smoke pours out of the hole while workers lower items into the flames and watch them catch fire.
According to news reports, the hole is 1.5 metres in diameter with a surface temperature of 792 degrees centigrade.
It was initially reported to the police as a 'volcano' by local workers but later proved to be a coalmine.
